The best cashback portals in 2026, ranked by how they pay

Every "best cashback portal" list ranks the same way: whoever's paying the most today wins. Ours doesn't - the portals actually worth an account are TopCashback, BeFrugal, and Rakuten for cashback, plus Capital One Shopping and the airline portals if you want gift cards or miles instead. That's the answer; the rest of this post is why, and what to actually do once you've got more than one account.

Here's our take, sorted by what you're after. If cash is what you want, start with the tier-one three below. The tier-one workhorses

• TopCashback - covers more stores than any other portal named in this post, and it tops the field often enough that if you're only going to keep one account, this is usually it. No minimum to cash out via PayPal, Venmo, or ACH (a few gift-card options do carry one), and once a purchase confirms, payouts move in a day or two.
• BeFrugal - covers fewer stores than TopCashback, but on the stores it does list, it's the single highest rate more often than not. Back that with a 125% guarantee if you find a higher rate elsewhere within 24 hours (capped at $25 per transaction), and payouts about as fast as they get: a cent minimum for PayPal or direct deposit, paid the next business day. • Rakuten - the one most people have already heard of, and for good reason: mainstream stores, in-store cashback through a linked card, and the option to take Amex points instead of cash. The trade-off is quarterly payouts.

The specialists worth knowing

• Capital One Shopping - free, no Capital One account or card needed, and it doubles as a coupon-tester and price-tracker while it's at it. The catch: it pays in gift cards, not cash.
• The mileage portals - if you'd rather earn a specific airline's miles than cash, the airline shopping portals are their own category, and the one to join is whichever program's miles you'll actually redeem (several of them share a platform underneath).

Why you still shouldn't marry one

None of the three above wins on every purchase, and that's actually the point: they're worth an account because they clear a high bar often, not because any single one always leads. Here's where that bar actually sits, across every store with a live cashback rate:
