Did my cashback track?
Answer 'Yes' or 'No' at each step. This tool will walk you through the most common reasons a portal purchase doesn't track (in the order worth checking), and ends with what to do next. Every step links into the full cashback tracking guide.
Did you click through the portal's own link (not just visit the store on your own) right before this purchase?
Yes
Do you run an ad blocker, tracking blocker, or strict privacy mode (uBlock, Privacy Badger, Brave Shields, Safari's stricter settings) that could have been active?
Yes
Ad blockers are the number-one silent killer of portal tracking.
Most portals can't track through an ad blocker, tracking blocker, or a strict privacy mode. The click still looks normal to you; the cookie just never lands.
File a missing-cashback claim with the portal using your order-confirmation screenshot. Next time, pause or allowlist the blocker (or use a dedicated clean browser profile) before you click through.
No
Between clicking the portal link and finishing checkout, did you open a new tab, click another link to the store, or search your way back to it?
Yes
A second visit to the store can overwrite the portal's tracking cookie.
Whichever link set the cookie last is usually the one that gets credit. Opening the store again, in a new tab, from a bookmark, or from another site, can quietly replace the cookie before checkout.
File a missing-cashback claim with your screenshot. Next time, click through once and complete checkout in that same tab, no detours.
No
Did you use a coupon code from somewhere other than the portal itself (a coupon site, a browser extension, a forum)?
Yes
An outside coupon code can reassign the commission to whoever gave you the code.
That's true even when the portal's own cookie was set correctly; the last credited link wins.
You can still file a claim, but be aware the coupon site may be the one credited instead. Next time, use only codes the portal itself shows you.
No
Was this purchase a gift card itself, or did you pay with one?
Yes
Gift cards are a common, and commonly confused, exclusion.
Buying a gift card usually earns nothing; gift-card retailers are frequently an excluded category outright. Paying WITH a gift card can void tracking on paper, though in practice it sometimes still tracks anyway.
If you paid with a gift card, file a claim anyway, it sometimes works. If you bought the gift card itself, check whether this portal excludes that category before assuming it's a bug.
Gift cards: two different things people conflate Track this claim
No
Was the item a subscription, a tax or shipping charge, or sold by a third-party marketplace seller on the store’s site?
Yes
Excluded categories and marketplace sellers frequently don't count, that's a rule, not a bug.
Subscriptions, taxes, shipping, and third-party sellers are commonly carved out of a portal's terms entirely, independent of anything you did.
Check the portal's own exclusion terms for this store before filing a claim; this case is usually not claimable.
No
Sounds like you did everything right, give it time first.
Many portals show pending cashback within a few days; some take weeks.
If it still hasn't shown up after a few weeks, file a missing-cashback claim with your order-confirmation screenshot, within the portal's claim window (often 30 to 90 days).
No
That's almost certainly why.
A portal's tracking cookie is only set when you click through its link. Visiting the store directly, from a bookmark, or from a search result skips that step entirely, even if you're already a member.
There's nothing to file, no click means no cookie for a store to credit. Next time, start at the portal, click through, and buy in the same tab.
Already have a screenshot of the order confirmation? Keep it in your claim tracker so it's there when you need it for a missing-cashback claim.
